Britten: Billy Budd, Op. 50 (Live)

This is a re-issue of the older ORFEO bestseller from 2003 (ex. C602033). It presents the successful Austrian premiere of Britten's opera, in the rarely performed original version with four acts.
The Austrian premiere from February 2001 saw also the baritone Bo Skovhus' last appearances as Billy Budd: a role that seemed tailor-made for him, for which, however, the baritone, aged 40, considered himself too old.
