Evelyn Herlitzius
Evelyn Herlitzius, born in Osnabrück, studied at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Hamburg. After first commitments, she held her debut at the Semper Opera in Dresden in 1997. Since then, she has held guest appearances e.g. in Vienna, Brussels, Stuttgart, Berlin, Milan, Amsterdam and Barcelona as well as at the festivals in Salzburg and Aix-en-Provence. Her repertoire covers roles such as Kundry (Parsifal), Elisabeth/Venus (Tannhäuser), Ortrud (Lohengrin), Marie (Wozzeck), the Dyer’s Wife (Die Frau ohne Schatten), Elina Makropulos (Die Sache Makropulos) as well as the title roles in Turandot, Salome and Jenůfa. Since 2002, she has held the title of Kammersängerin in Saxony. The same year, she celebrated her debut at the Bayreuth Festival, where she has since appeared continuously as a soloist.
