Roland Bracht
The bass Roland Bracht was born in Munich and studied there at the Music Hochschule and as a member of the Bavarian State Opera Studio. He was a member of Stuttgart Opera from 1973 to 2017 and was named Chamber Singer in 1985.
His repertoire includes all major roles for his voice, Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Commendatore (Don Giovanni), Osmin (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) and Oroveso (Norma). He has undertaken guest engagements in major German opera houses and in Brussels, Rome, Barcelona, San Francisco, Japan, at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and the New York Metropolitan Opera as well as at the festivals in Munich and Salzburg.
He has served as a regular guest at the Paris Opéra National and appeared as Geronte de Ravoir (Manon Lescaut) at the Munich Bavarian State Opera. Performances at Stuttgart Opera included Rocco in Fidelio, Lord Valton in I puritani and Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro.
