Dunja Vejzovic
The Croatian mezzo-soprano Dunja Vejzovic studied singing in Zagreb and Stuttgart. She became an ensemble member of various German opera houses and a welcome guest at the Bayreuther Festspiele and the Salzburger Festspiele. She has sung on the world’s most important opera stages, including Rome, Milan, New York, Houston, Barcelona, Paris and London with conductors such as Herbert von Karajan, Carlos Kleiber, Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, among others.
As a voice teacher (first in Graz and Zagreb, later in Stuttgart) she taught Christina Landshamer, Evelin Novak and Kresimir Strazanac, among others. In 2010 she received the Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande (Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon) for her work.
